OVERVIEW
Threadline is a long-form communication tool built for distributed engineering teams. It replaces meeting notes, Slack threads, and Notion docs with a single structured feed — decisions, context, and rationale, all versioned and searchable.
Challenge
The hardest problem was writing. Nobody writes good async communication by default — they write the same way they talk in meetings, which doesn't transfer. We built a lightweight structured template system that prompts for context and outcome without feeling like a form, and made search fast enough that people actually use it.
